This is the best replacement recorder for your old Marantz digital recorders. It has 2 inputs on the front one for your mask and one for your room microphones. The unit has phantom power for the room microphone input so you can buy the Martel Audio Grabber that does need a battery and the unit will power the microphones. The Sony recorder has a manual record level adjust knob on the front recorder for your microphones. It has built-in microphones as well. It also has a bar showing you the record levels on your mask and room microphone. The recorder records directly to an SD card. The files are in the .mp3 format left and right channels. This is perfect for your transcription software. The Sony recorder also has super built-in microphones. The recorder has 1/4 , XLR, and 3.5MM inputs for microphones.
